On March 8, 2020, the luxurious yacht 'Nourah of Riyadh' experienced a significant incident as it capsized at the Megatechnica shipyard in Perama around midday. The vessel found itself partially submerged, tilting approximately 45 degrees to starboard during a scheduled lifting operation intended for anti-fouling maintenance. Fortunately, all 12 crew members aboard managed to escape without injury. However, the incident resulted in damage to the shipyard facilities and affected a nearby tourist boat, 'Lamadin,' which had been hoisted ashore prior to the accident. In response to the capsize, an emergency pollution control plan was activated, with a private company designated for the anti-pollution efforts and the salvage operation of the yacht. The local Port Authority initiated a preliminary investigation to delve into the circumstances surrounding the incident. 'Nourah of Riyadh,' a splendid yacht designed by Donald Starkey, was constructed in 2008 at Yachtley and belongs to Prince Turki bin Mohamed bin Fahd Al Saud, the eldest son of Prince Mohamed bin Fahd bin Saud, who is the eldest surviving son of the late King Fahd.
