Wellard Set to Resume Live Cattle Exports to Indonesia

Aug 15, 2011 08:44

The live cattle export trade to Indonesia is steadily reviving, with Wellard Rural Exports recently reporting a significant step forward. On Friday, the company was granted an Approved Export Plan by the Federal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, paving the way for the export of 7,000 cattle from Wyndham, Western Australia, to Indonesia. This development follows an Elders shipment that marked the beginning of this revitalization. Wellard's inaugural shipment under the new plan will utilize the MV Ocean Swagman, a state-of-the-art livestock carrier that the company launched in 2010.
