The ferry 'Olav Duun', which operates the Hofles-Geisnes-Lund route, encountered technical difficulties on July 15, 2025. Consequently, the service has been halted until further notice by its operator, Torghatten. The vessel has been temporarily docked at Hoflesja while repairs are underway. On July 19, 2017, the ferry 'Olav Duun' encountered a significant technical setback resulting in the cancellation of all sailings on the Hofles-Geisnes-Lund route. The incident arose due to a turbo failure which led to the generation of smoke while the vessel was en route to Hofles. Fortunately, the ferry was able to return to port at a reduced speed, ensuring the safety of its passengers. On April 16, 2011, the ferry service connecting Hofles and Lund experienced an unexpected disruption when the 'Olav Duun,' identified by IMO number 9189328, was taken out of operation due to a technical malfunction. As a result, the ferry remained docked at the quay in Lund, unable to embark because the adverse weather conditions made it too dangerous for tugs to maneuver the vessel.
