In Stavanger, a total of 32 individuals aboard the offshore vessel 'Olympic Electra' have been placed under quarantine following the confirmation of a COVID-19 case. The individual infected with the virus is a crew member from the Philippines, who was tested as part of standard safety protocols during a crew change. Local authorities in Randaberg municipality are actively working with the harbor master and the shipping company as they coordinate efforts with the National Institute of Public Health to trace potential infections. The shipping firm has adhered to all prescribed safety measures. According to shipowner Stig Remøy, the 'Olympic Electra' hosts a crew of 18, comprising six foreign members and 12 Norwegian nationals, in addition to client personnel. The infected crew member initially tested negative for the coronavirus in his home country; however, upon arrival and subsequent testing aboard the vessel, the result was positive. Notably, the individual is asymptomatic and additional test results are expected by August 5.
