Lost Containers in Fair Isle Channel Raise Alert for Mariners

On the evening of January 30, 2016, a maritime incident occurred in the Fair Isle Channel involving the vessel 'Marmaui.' Between 8 p.m. and midnight, six empty 20-foot containers were swept overboard while the ship was en route from Iceland to its destination in Rotterdam. Since this unfortunate event, no sightings of the lost containers have been reported. Authorities have issued a warning for nearby vessels to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the drifting containers. Following the incident, the 'Marmaui' successfully docked at the Rotterdam Shortsea Terminals in Heijplaat on February 1 at 10:45 a.m.
