On the evening of November 4, 2018, at approximately 8:05 p.m., the cargo vessel 'Vectis Isle', sailing from Sorel to Oxelösund, experienced an allision while navigating the Kiel Canal. The incident occurred as the vessel was maneuvering within the diverge dodge at Kudensee, where it collided with several old wooden pilings on the northern bank of the canal. Notably, one of the pilings was displaced due to the impact. Fortunately, the 'Vectis Isle' sustained no significant damage and was cleared to resume its eastbound journey, with an estimated time of arrival in Oxelösund set for November 6.
