On January 4, 2025, a significant fire erupted in the engine room of the bulk carrier 'Panoria', which was making its way from Singapore to Nantong. The incident occurred approximately 23 nautical miles off Cape Eluanbi, Taiwan, where the vessel, carrying a crew of 21, subsequently lost power and drifted helplessly. Despite the crew's commendable effort to extinguish the flames, four members sustained injuries, including one who was critically hurt.
