Star Bulk Carriers, based in Athens, Greece, has proudly announced the successful delivery of its first Capesize vessel, named 'M/V Peloreus'. This impressive ship, boasting a deadweight tonnage of 182,000 dwt, was constructed by Japan Marine United (JMU) and marks the initial delivery in a series of six vessels ordered from this reputable shipyard, with all deliveries scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2015. The M/V Peloreus is set to join the spot market, leveraging its cutting-edge design and exceptional fuel efficiency to capitalize on current maritime opportunities. Following this milestone, along with the acquisition of two Kamsarmax vessels from Heron Ventures Ltd., Star Bulk Carriers will expand its fleet to include a total of thirty-three dry bulk vessels. This diversified fleet comprises eleven Capesize ships, four Post-Panamax vessels, six Kamsarmax ships, two Ultramax, and ten Supramax vessels, with an average age of approximately 7.3 years.
