The charter, valued at $20,000 per day, has been secured for a duration of two years with Koch Shipping. This agreement marks an exciting advancement in the vessel's operational timeline.

A devastating fire erupted on March 24, 2018, aboard the bulk carrier 'Philadelphia' as it sailed from Ponta da Madeira to Qingdao, loaded with iron ore. The incident took place at approximately 7 p.m. in position 37°31'S, 25°43'E. Despite the swift response from two nearby vessels that rushed to offer assistance, the crew onboard managed to control and extinguish the flames themselves. Unfortunately, in a desperate attempt to escape the danger, one crew member jumped overboard and was lost at sea. Despite an extensive search operation lasting 11 hours, rescuers were unable to locate him. The 'Philadelphia' continued its journey, ultimately docking in Singapore on April 15.

A substantial new trip charter has been secured for the transportation of 190,000 tons of ore from Tubarao, Brazil, to Qingdao, China. The deal, brokered by Louis Dreyfus in collaboration with Koch Shipping, stipulates a freight rate of $14.85 per ton, with three days of shipment included. The discharge will occur at a rate of 30,000 tons per day, spanning from February 20 to February 28.
