The Posh-Deep-C: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

The offshore vessel 'Boa Deep C' is currently anchored near Ko Nu Island, off the coast of Songkla, where six of its crew members have tested positive for Covid-19. The vessel dropped anchor on May 12, having set sail from Kakinada on May 1 with a total of 29 crew members. It made a scheduled stop in Singapore on May 11 before proceeding to Songkla, arriving at approximately 8 a.m. that same day. Upon arrival, officials from the Port of Songkla conducted a thorough inspection of the ship's documents and performed Covid-19 swab tests on everyone onboard. Initially cleared for onward travel to Chon Buri, the 'Boa Deep C' departed at 5 p.m. However, shortly after 10 p.m., test results revealed that two crew members from Ukraine, two from Poland, one from Russia, and one from India had contracted the virus. In response, the local marine office ordered the vessel to return to Songkla port, where it arrived the following day. The crew has been explicitly prohibited from traveling to any other Thai ports or oil platforms. A field hospital has been established onboard for the six infected crew members, each of whom is currently showing no severe symptoms. Maritime enforcement has deployed patrol boats around 'Boa Deep C' to ensure that no one disembarks or boards the vessel. Despite the situation, the ship maintains the option to return to its home country at any time, provided Thai authorities are notified in advance. As of May 17, the vessel remains anchored at coordinates 07° 16.45' N 100° 35.81' E.
