The company has secured a contract with RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, based in Essen, Germany, involving one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels, currently known as the m/v 'JK Pioneer', which is set to be renamed 'P. S. Palios'. Under the terms of this lucrative deal, the gross daily charter rate is fixed at an impressive US$18,350, subject to a 5% commission payable to third parties. This charter arrangement, spanning approximately twenty-two (22) months, is poised to extend until a maximum date of December 31, 2015. The commencement of the charter is anticipated to follow the delivery of the vessel to Diana Shipping, expected by the end of November 2013, as outlined in the company's press release.
