The incident prompted immediate action, with Salvamento Marítimo dispatching the search and rescue vessel 'Marta Mata' and a tugboat from the R-Sofía port to provide necessary assistance. In a precautionary measure, an ambulance was positioned at the Ibiza port to attend to the 55 crew members onboard if required. Fortunately, the fire was rapidly controlled and extinguished, and no injuries were reported. At the time of the incident, the ferry was traveling from Denia to Ibiza to ensure local services remained operational amid inclement weather. The ferry operator, Balearia, promptly adjusted their services, deploying two additional vessels to cover the routes affected by the incident. The 'Sicilia' took over the Ibiza to Valencia route, while the 'City of Mahón' serviced the Ibiza to Barcelona route, both departing with a delay of approximately 1.5 hours around midday.
