On December 19, 2019, a maritime emergency unfolded 13 miles southeast of Gibraltar involving the 'Repubblica del Brasile', a vessel arriving from Lagos. The ship's crew urgently requested a medevac for a Bulgarian crew member who had sustained a broken leg. In response, Salvamento Marítimo swiftly deployed the Helimer 207 helicopter. The skilled rescue team successfully hoisted the injured individual and transported him to Jerez for immediate medical attention, showcasing the efficient rescue operations conducted in the region.
