The Dutch-flagged freighter Beaumotion has encountered gearbox troubles while docked at Fischerhütte siding. Due to inclement weather conditions, it was deemed unsafe for the vessel to remain in its current location. Consequently, a towing operation was coordinated with the district center of the shipping administration. On Saturday, the tugboats Bugsier 10 and Wal, operated by the Hamburg shipping company Bugsier, successfully towed Beaumotion to Brunsbüttel for necessary gearbox repairs. The incident follows an earlier event on Friday when strong winds caused the freighter Wilson Tyne to collide with the middle wall of the large south sluice in Brunsbüttel, resulting in only minor damage to both the vessel and the lock wall.
