Captain of Rix River Caught Sailing Under the Influence
On March 31, 2015, at 9:55 AM, the 'Rix River' was stopped by the water police in Brunsbüttel for a routine check. During the inspection, authorities discovered that the vessel's captain was operating the ship under the influence, with a blood alcohol level of 1.43 milliliters. Consequently, the captain was removed from his duties, and a blood sample was collected for further analysis. In addition to facing serious repercussions, he was ordered to pay a safety fine equivalent to one month's salary. Shortly after this incident, the 'Rix River' resumed its journey from Nakskowv to Hamburg at approximately 11 AM.
