On the morning of June 6, 2019, a dramatic rescue unfolded near St Ninian’s Isle when the wooden creel boat "Scotties Pride," measuring 9 meters in length, struck rocks with one individual onboard. Responding promptly to the distress signal, the fish carrier "Ronja Carrier" was already positioned nearby when the Aith RNLI lifeboat was dispatched for assistance. Arriving on the scene at 11:30 a.m., the lifeboat crew found the "Scotties Pride" secured alongside the "Ronja Carrier." In a coordinated effort, a lifeboat crew member boarded the creel boat equipped with a pump to help stabilize her and enable a safe journey back to port. By 2 p.m., both vessels were expected to arrive safely at Scalloway Harbour, marking a successful rescue operation that showcased the quick response and expertise of the RNLI lifeboat team.
