On September 8, 2019, at approximately 4:40 PM, the MV Aqua Kvaløy, while navigating from Tananger, encountered trouble and ran aground in the waters of Solund, located in Sogn og Fjordane, just south of Indrøyna. The Norwegian Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) promptly dispatched the rescue vessel Halvdan Grieg to provide assistance. The Aqua Kvaløy, which was not carrying any cargo at the time, experienced a leak in its technical water tank situated in the bulbous bow. Thanks to the swift action of the Halvdan Grieg, the vessel was successfully refloated at 6:55 PM. Following the refloating, the Aqua Kvaløy was escorted to Florø, where it safely docked at the cargo terminal at 11 PM for necessary inspections.
