Maritime Medivac Operation for Injured Crew Member Near Rouen
On December 9, 2019, at 4:25 PM, the CROSS Jobourg received an urgent call for help from the 'Sea Angel,' a vessel stationed in the Rouen waiting area of the Seine Bay. A crew member had sustained injuries to both feet during a particular maneuver, prompting the ship to seek immediate medical assistance. After coordinating with the maritime medical consultation center (CCMM) in Toulouse and the maritime medical coordination center (SCMM) in Le Havre, the decision was made around 5 PM to arrange for a medical evacuation to Monod Hospital in Le Havre. At 7:10 PM, the CROSS deployed a Dragon 76 helicopter from civil security in Le Havre to assist with the evacuation. The injured sailor was successfully hoisted at 5:45 PM and was subsequently transported to the Monod Hospital, arriving at 6 PM, ensuring timely medical care for the crew member.
