Working Conditions Aboard the Royal-09

On April 15, 2017, at approximately 4:20 PM, the freighter 'Royal 09' experienced a technical malfunction while anchored just downstream of the Đồng Nai Bridge on the Đồng Nai River in Bien Hoa City. The rising tide and strong winds caused the vessel to break free from its anchor, allowing it to drift roughly 100 meters upstream. Unfortunately, the ship subsequently collided with the bridge, with its stern becoming lodged in the structure. This incident resulted in the immediate suspension of traffic across the bridge. Fortunately, after around 30 minutes, three nearby tugboats managed to stabilize the situation and successfully reposition the ship, which had been unloaded and moored nearby. Despite the collision, the bridge sustained only minor damage, and normal traffic operations resumed shortly thereafter. All nine crew members aboard the 'Royal 09' were reported unharmed.
