Teekay, a prominent player in maritime logistics, successfully delivered the Rudolf Samoylovich, the second of its 170,000-cubic-meter ice-class liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, to the Yamal LNG project. This significant event took place in Sabetta, Russia, on September 6, 2023, and was nearly three months ahead of the initially projected timeline, a request made by the charterer. The Rudolf Samoylovich joins the Eduard Toll in the fleet of six Arc-7 LNG carriers that Teekay is scheduled to provide to the Yamal LNG project by the year 2020. After leaving the shipyard in Korea at the end of August, the vessel successfully navigated the Northern Sea Route to arrive at its destination. The Yamal terminal, operated by Novatek, has experienced tremendous growth, having loaded its first LNG cargo back in December 2017. With two operational trains now functioning at full capacity and a third currently in the commissioning phase, the terminal is set to significantly enhance its output in the coming months.
