Tragic Incident on Saga Faith: Crew Member Dies After Breathing Complications
In a somber turn of events, the cargo vessel 'Saga Faith' was forced to change course to Montevideo on the morning of April 26, 2023, while navigating the waters of Rio de la Plata. A 38-year-old crew member, an Indian national, experienced severe respiratory issues that led to him losing consciousness. The country’s Marine Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) promptly alerted the Uruguayan Navy, resulting in a patrol boat equipped with paramedics being dispatched towards the ship. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the crew member could not be resuscitated.
