Global United Receives World's First Cyber SAFE Certified Vessels

Jun 01, 2017 13:10

In a groundbreaking development for the maritime industry, Global United has officially taken delivery of the first ships ever to receive Lloyd’s Register’s coveted Cyber SAFE certification. These innovative vessels, constructed by Hanjin Heavy Industries in partnership with Alpha Ori Technology, bear the Cyber (AL-SAFE) notation, signifying that their onboard autonomous systems are recognized as secure for operational use. Tatsuya Okamoto from Mitsui & Co., representing Global United Gas Carriers, expressed pride in this achievement, stating, 'We at Global United Gas Carriers Pte. Ltd. extend our gratitude to the Alpha Ori team for integrating SMARTShip technology into our vessel, the Trammo Dietlin. We're especially grateful to Lloyd’s Register for their thorough assessment and the awarding of the Cyber (AL-SAFE) class notation. It fills us with immense pride that our vessel stands as the first globally to obtain this level of autonomous certification.' In response to this landmark milestone, Sam Jha, Chief Business Officer at Alpha Ori Technology, commented, 'We are excited to announce that the Trammo Dietlin, equipped with our SMARTShip technology, is the first vessel in history to receive the AL-SAFE notation from Lloyd’s Register. This marks a transformative moment for maritime technology, poised to redefine maritime transportation and create significant economic benefits for all involved, including ship owners and operators.' Capt. Rajesh Unni, CEO of Synergy Marine Group, added, 'Our operations focus on delivering bespoke vessel management services to our clients. Alpha Ori's innovative technology has greatly enhanced our offerings, and we are thrilled to utilize their Digital Product Suite for advanced remote vessel monitoring, diagnostics, and control.' This monumental development signals a new era in maritime safety and technology integration, paving the way for future advancements in the industry.
