The Salar: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On May 30, 2021, at approximately 2 p.m., a significant fire ignited in the cargo hold of the cargo vessel 'Salar'. The ship had recently docked at a recycling facility located at Bruun's Quay in Landskrona on May 28. Responding to the emergency, 12 firefighting units from five different fire stations were deployed to the scene to combat the extensive blaze. Firefighters utilized water cannons to douse the flames, which had enveloped the scrap cargo onboard. To effectively extinguish the fire, the hazardous scrap materials had to be unloaded from the vessel. Meanwhile, residents in the vicinity were advised to remain indoors and secure all doors, windows, and ventilation systems due to the substantial smoke produced.
