The luxury yacht 'Salt' was seized by security officials in Kilifi after it was discovered that it did not possess the necessary authorization from the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) to dock in the country. The vessel was carrying six foreign tourists who have yet to disembark. During the inspection, marine security officers found weapons aboard the yacht; however, these were verified as legally owned by the operators for their defense. The primary concern was the absence of clearance from the KPA, which is required for electronic travel authorization, port entry, and advance notification prior to docking in Kenya. The 'Salt' arrived on November 6, 2025, with the tourists planning to visit the renowned Maasai Mara and Amboseli national parks before departing for Madagascar on November 14.
