On the afternoon of October 30, 2021, the cargo vessel 'Medkon Mra' faced an unexpected engine failure while navigating the Bosphorus Strait towards the southern region, near Vanikoy. The vessel, which was making its journey from Odessa to Ambarli, began to drift perilously close to the shoreline. Fortunately, the situation was brought under control with the help of tugs 'Kurtarma 7' and 'Mehrmetcik', along with the lifeboat 'KEGM 3'. Under the expert coordination of the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center, the 'Medkon Mra' successfully completed its transit and safely docked at Ahirkapi anchorage.
