In the early hours of August 3, 2019, at approximately 1 a.m., the bulk carrier "Sasebo Glory" was implicated in a troubling hit-and-run incident off the eastern coast of Taiwan. The vessel was on a navigation route from Zangjiagang, China, to San Lorenzo, Argentina, when it reportedly collided with an 18.5-foot Taiwanese fishing boat, "Quan Yi Cai No. 1," which had six crew members aboard and was en route to Wushi Port in Hong Kong, expected back by August 4. The collision resulted in the fishing vessel being severed in half, leaving the crew missing, including five Indonesian nationals.
