On November 11, 2024, the cargo vessel 'Saturn 1' experienced a significant engine failure while ballasting during its journey from Istanbul to Azov. The incident occurred off the picturesque shoreline of Ahırkapı, prompting immediate action from the Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Center in Istanbul. In response, the tug 'Kurtarma 11' (IMO: 9854399) along with a qualified pilot were dispatched to provide assistance. The stricken vessel was subsequently towed to Küçükçekmece, where it was safely anchored at the coordinates of 40° 57' N 028° 48' E, ready for necessary repairs.

On the morning of December 13, 2017, at precisely 7:14 a.m., the bulk carrier 'Sea Leader' experienced an allision with the docked tanker 'SVL Unity' while attempting to unmoor at Kavkaz port. Fortunately, both vessels suffered only minor damages from the encounter. As of December 14, both ships remained anchored at Kavkaz in the bustling Kerch Strait. The 'Sea Leader' was carrying a substantial load of 4,316 tons of sunflower cake destined for Izmir, while 'SVL Unity' had recently arrived in port with a cargo of diesel oil.
