TransAtlantic Shipping has announced the sale of three notable RoRo carriers, Ortviken (IMO: 9087374), Östrand, and Obbola, to SCA Transforest. This strategic move comes as SCA Transforest opts to exercise its existing purchase option for the vessels, which have been chartered for an extended period to facilitate the transportation of forestry products across the Baltic Sea. The official transfer of ownership is set to occur on June 1. Despite the sale, TransAtlantic will retain management responsibilities for these vessels, ensuring continued operational oversight.
