Scarabeo 5 remains under contract until 2017, with plans for its use in drilling and completing production wells across various NCS fields, aimed at enhancing recovery from existing resources. The brief layup of Scarabeo 5 is not expected to impact Statoil’s production goals or its scheduled exploration activities on the NCS. Throughout 2014, Statoil is poised to drill between 20 and 25 exploration wells, with the company set to operate about two-thirds of these wells.
