Working Conditions Aboard the Sea-Prosperity

On June 11, 2025, the vessel 'Sea Prosperity' faced detention in Tangshan, a significant maritime incident marked by 13 noted deficiencies. Among these, five issues were classified as severe enough to warrant the vessel's detention. The critical deficiencies included failures in fire safety measures with the fire pump and its piping not meeting required standards, and the fixed fire extinguishing system deemed inoperative. Additionally, the integrity of safety navigation equipment was compromised with the voyage data recorder reported as inoperative. Pollution prevention systems also fell short, as the sewage treatment plant did not comply with regulations and there were failures relating to oil and oily mixtures from machinery spaces. Following necessary observations and rectifications, 'Sea Prosperity' was cleared and released on June 13, subsequently mooring at Bo Hai Anchorage at coordinates 38° 55' N 118° 02' E.
