Luxury Superyacht Senses Docked at Port Nelson Awaiting Favorable Weather
A stunning superyacht with connections to the billionaire elite is currently docked at Port Nelson, where it will remain for a few more days as it awaits improved weather conditions. The vessel, known as Senses, was purchased by Google co-founder Larry Page for an impressive US$45 million in 2011 from Sir Douglas Myer, the heir to a New Zealand brewing fortune. Senses is equipped with extravagant amenities including a helipad, a fully-equipped gym, expansive multi-level sundecks, and luxurious accommodations for up to 10 guests. At the time of the purchase, Page was estimated to be worth around US$15 billion. As of now, Forbes ranks him as the 19th richest person globally, with an astounding net worth of $34 billion. Sir Douglas Myer, reflecting on his time aboard Senses, remarked that he enjoyed traveling the world on it for five or six years, describing the experience as 'pretty good fun.'
