Heroic Rescue: Filipino Fisherman Saved After 20 Days at Sea

May 31, 2018 11:22

In a remarkable tale of survival, 39-year-old Roberto De La Cruz from Surigao City has been rescued after spending an astonishing 20 days adrift in a small boat over 400 miles off the Philippine coast. His ordeal came to an end when the crew aboard the tanker 'Seri Begawan,' which was en route from Gladstone to Beihai, spotted him and came to his aid. Separated from his mother ship, De La Cruz was brought on board the vessel, where he received immediate medical care. Captain Manjit Lal promptly notified the Philippine Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) about the situation. On May 27, the brave fisherman was successfully transferred to a Coast Guard vessel, ensuring his safe return. The 'Seri Begawan' then continued its journey, with an estimated time of arrival in Beihai set for June 3. Qatargas Achieves Milestone with First LNG Cargo Sale to Malaysia

Jul 23, 2013 10:37

In a historic moment for Qatar's energy sector, Qatargas has successfully completed the sale of the country's inaugural liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo to Malaysia. The transaction was made with Petronas LNG, and the cargo was loaded onto the LNG vessel, Seri Begawan, at Ras Laffan Port yesterday. This significant shipment, which comprises roughly 3.1 trillion British thermal units of LNG, is set to be delivered to Malaysia's first LNG receiving terminal in Melaka. The LNG was sourced from Qatargas 2, a collaborative venture involving Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil, and Total. Recently, Qatargas and Petronas finalized a master sales and purchase agreement (MSPA), paving the way for this spot cargo sale as well as future LNG transactions. This development marks Qatar's expanding footprint in the global LNG market. Source: Sea Ship News [23/07/13]
