Working Conditions Aboard the Sirios-Cement-Vi

On July 7, 2021, at approximately noon, the Central Port Authority of Mytilene was notified of an accident involving a crew member aboard the 'Sirios Cement VI' during its docking at the port. The sailor experienced a slip on the deck, resulting in significant injuries, including a fracture. Emergency medical services from EKAB were dispatched promptly to the scene, and the injured sailor was transported to the General Hospital of Mytilene for treatment. In response to the incident, the Central Port Authority initiated a preliminary investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the injury.

In a notable maritime incident on April 22, 2019, the cargo vessel 'Sirios Cement VI' experienced an allision with a pier while docking at the port of Rhodes. The collision resulted in visible abrasions to its port side hull, situated above the waterline. Following the event, the Central Port Authority of Rhodes initiated a thorough preliminary investigation into the matter. To ensure maritime safety, they detained the vessel until necessary repairs were completed and a certificate of seaworthiness was secured. After addressing the hull damage, the 'Sirios Cement VI' was released and departed Rhodes on April 24 at 8:40 a.m., continuing its journey towards Mytilini via Patmos, where it successfully arrived on April 25 at 8 p.m.
