Maersk Supply Service has celebrated a significant milestone with the delivery of the Maersk Installer, the first subsea support vessel from Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry Co. This landmark event took place in Dalian, marking a historic collaboration as it is the first vessel built for Maersk’s offshore endeavors by a Chinese shipyard. As part of a larger order, Maersk Supply Service will receive three additional vessels within the next year. This delivery stands out as the largest, most sophisticated, and most expensive vessel the company has commissioned in its 50-year history, according to Peter Jacobsen, Chief Technical Officer of Maersk Supply Service. The Maersk Installer measures a notable 137 meters in length and 27 meters in width, boasting an impressive 1,850 square meters of cargo deck space to enhance its operational capabilities.
