The incident occurred during its docking process due to an unforeseen technical issue that caused the vessel to become unresponsive to the captain's steering commands. In a bid to mitigate the impact, the captain deployed the anchors, resulting in a reduced collision force, which only caused minor damage to the vessel's bow. Thankfully, the ferry was able to refloat itself and continued its journey back to Termoli later that afternoon.
