On June 13, 2013, at approximately 3:40 PM, the ferry 'Sogn' encountered an unfortunate mishap, striking the ferry dock at Brimnes while en route from Bruravik. The vessel carried 43 passengers along with a crew of nine, thankfully resulting in no injuries. However, the ferry sustained hull damage and proceeded to Ulvik for repairs. Sogn Ferry Successfully Refloated and Enters Repair Yard
The ferry 'Sogn' was successfully refloated after being grounded on rocks, with the operation completed on August 26. Following the refloating, the vessel made its way to Ulvik that night and docked at a repair yard on August 27 for necessary maintenance. Ferry Sogn Strikes Rocks in Hardanger Fjord Incident
On August 26, 2011, the ferry 'Sogn', which operates between Bruravik and Brimnes in Hordaland, encountered a mishap as it ran aground on rocks on the southern side of the Hardanger Fjord at 6:44 a.m. At the time of the incident, the vessel was approximately 200 meters away from the Brimnes pier. There were 13 passengers and a crew of six on board, fortunately, none of the passengers sustained any injuries. All passengers were successfully disembarked by 7:45 a.m. The ferry was carrying 10 vehicles when it struck the rocks, leading to damage in its rudder and propeller system. To address the situation, divers were dispatched to assess the extent of the damages. An attempt to refloat the vessel under its own power was made at 10 a.m., but unfortunately, it did not succeed.
