Ferry Incident at Fure: Sognefjord Allides with Dock
On the morning of February 28, 2019, an allision occurred involving the ferry Sognefjord and the dock at Fure. The incident resulted in the suspension of the Askvoll - Fure - Værlandet ferry service, as the accompanying ferry, Nordfjord, was undergoing maintenance at a nearby yard. Fortunately, there were three passengers on board during the incident, and none sustained injuries. However, the dock sustained damage, prompting Sognefjord to return to Askvoll to safely disembark the passengers. The ferry itself also incurred minor damage that required repairs. In response to the disruption, Fjord1 deployed a passenger boat to operate between Askvoll and Værlandet starting at 8 a.m., as there were no available spare ferries in the vicinity.
