On August 11, 2019, at 7:10 a.m. local time, the bulk carrier 'Solina' experienced a grounding incident on the Amazon River, specifically near Munguba Port. The vessel was transporting a cargo of corn from Santarem to Tuxpan when it ran aground. The local agents and the Port Authority were promptly notified of the situation, leading to a decision to wait for an appropriate tide expected at 3 p.m. However, the refloating attempt was unsuccessful due to unsuitable water levels. As a precaution, a representative from DNV GL was scheduled to board the vessel in preparation for salvage operations, which would involve tug support. By August 14, the 'Solina' remained stranded at coordinates 01° 27.78' N and 052° 11.44' W. Fortunately, after further efforts, the ship successfully resumed its journey on August 18 at 10:20 p.m., eventually arriving at Santana on August 21 at 10:50 a.m.
