Emergency MedEvac Operations Near Rotterdam
In the early hours between June 21 and 22, 2017, the KNRM station at Hoek van Holland sprang into action to assist the tanker 'Solway Fisher,' which was traveling from Lerwick to Rotterdam. A crew member on board had sustained injuries, prompting the need for a medical evacuation. The rescue operation involved the deployment of the lifeboat 'Jeanine Parqui' alongside a Search and Rescue (SAR) helicopter. Upon reaching Eurogeul, two members of the rescue team were strategically positioned to attend to the injured individual. Shortly thereafter, the helicopter arrived at the scene, deploying a diver and a medical professional to assist with the evacuation. The patient was successfully hoisted into the helicopter and transported to a hospital for further care.
