On April 19, 2025, at approximately 9 a.m., a dire situation unfolded aboard the sailing vessel 'Sorlandet' as its captain sought immediate medical assistance from CROSS Jobourg. The training ship was navigating roughly six nautical miles off the Flamanville coast, en route to the Netherlands, when a crew member fell seriously ill. The Dielette SNSM station promptly dispatched the lifeboat 'La Regnouse,' which successfully retrieved the ailing sailor along with two fellow crew members. Upon reaching the port of Dielette, emergency firefighters attended to the sick sailor before he was swiftly transferred to the Pasteur Hospital located in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin for further medical care. The following morning, April 20, 2025, the SNSM repeated their commendable service by returning the two companions back to join their training ship, ensuring that all crew members were accounted for and safe.
