Seatankers Welcomes Latest Addition: Platform Supply Vessel Sea Springer
The maritime industry celebrated a significant milestone recently as Seatankers, part of Deep Sea Supply, took delivery of its eighth platform supply vessel, named ‘Sea Springer’, from Zhejiang. This notable addition marks an important step in the acquisition of twelve PX105 design vessels, showcasing Seatankers' commitment to enhancing its fleet. According to a recent press release from Ulstein, feedback regarding the PX105 vessels has been overwhelmingly positive. In the latest edition of Ulstein Today, insights from the captain of one of the sister vessels, ‘Sea Falcon’, highlight the operational capabilities of these ships. Operating in the notoriously challenging Scottish sector of the North Sea, the Sea Falcon has faced adverse weather conditions but continues to perform admirably: “We have experienced our share of bad weather. We’ve had no particular problems, everything is fine and she is very good in operation,” shared the captain. Joey Daigle, General Manager at the Deep Sea Supply Management office in Singapore, praised the vessels following his recent inspections. He highlighted several fascinating remarks from the ship's masters, such as, “The vessel is extremely quiet when underway,” and “minimal vibrations are felt in heavy seas—this PSV design offers a luxurious ride.” The Sea Springer, along with her sister vessels, boasts impressive specifications with an overall length of 88.9 meters and a beam of 19 meters, complemented by a robust diesel-electric propulsion system. The cargo deck spans approximately 1,000 square meters, with an impressive deadweight capacity of 4,500 tons. Ulstein’s delivery package encompasses not just the vessel design, but also a comprehensive equipment suite, which includes all necessary power distribution and electric propulsion systems, as well as advanced bridge and communication systems, ensuring state-of-the-art operational efficiency. As Seatankers continues to roll out this advanced fleet, the future looks promising for their maritime endeavors.
