On April 13, 2021, maritime operations unfolded off the coast of Huelva when the 'St. George', a vessel on its way from Norfolk to Gibraltar, found itself 90 nautical miles from the Spanish coast. While navigating the approach to the Strait of Gibraltar from the west, the captain of the ship initiated a medical evacuation. In response, the CCS Tarifa swiftly deployed the Helimer 207 helicopter, which successfully hoisted the ill captain. The helicopter transported him to Jerez, where he was met by an ambulance that took him to the Seguridad Nautica Hospital for medical treatment.
