Although Utime acknowledged his actions, he argued that his focus was diverted to another approaching ferry, the 'Stena Superfast VIII'. Mark Flavell from the MCA emphasized the gravity of the situation, calling it a "dangerous scenario" stemming from Utime’s blatant disregard for the collision avoidance regulations. He stated, "There could have been disastrous consequences. The MCA will always seek to take necessary actions, prosecuting those seafarers who endanger others by ignoring maritime laws. Such offenses are intolerable, and those who refuse to comply with rules and regulations will face serious repercussions."
