The 'Stena Explorer' has made its way back onto the market, listed at approximately £4.5 million, just a few months after its recent sale. Originally sold in October 2015 to the Turkish company Karadeniz Holding, there were ambitious plans to transform the vessel into a cutting-edge floating office. Following its acquisition, the ferry was transported from Holyhead to Turkey in November of the same year. Now, the vessel is available for sale at $6.5 million. The sale is being handled by Taskin Torlak, a broker from Ocean Ship Brokers, and the listing can be found on the Offshore Solutions Unlimited website. While expectations for significant interest in the vessel are low, the broker remains optimistic about finalizing a deal. Notably, the other two HSS vessels have been scrapped within the past three years, adding to the rarity of such offers on the market.

The high-speed ferry, known as the 'Stena Explorer', is slated for an exciting conversion into a state-of-the-art floating office. As part of its innovative design, the floating office will integrate eco-friendly power-generation technologies, including Vertical Axis wind turbines and high-efficiency solar panels. This project aims not only to enhance security against earthquakes but also to elevate living standards within the shipyard environment in Turkey. The initial phase of the conversion will involve minor renovations, with select areas being transformed into functional office spaces. Comprehensive renovations will follow, as extensive design and research and development efforts are underway.
