On June 17, Broward County's Port Everglades proudly welcomed the MV Frijsenborg, a state-of-the-art cargo vessel recently built by Cantiere Navale Visentini in Porto Viro, Italy. This marks the ship's first visit to South Florida, adding a significant chapter to its journey. Celebrating this noteworthy event, Port Everglades Chief Executive & Port Director Steve Cernak, along with Deputy Port Director Glenn Wiltshire, presented a commemorative plaque and a traditional port challenge coin to the ship's Master, Francesco Rafanelli. The MV Frijsenborg measures an impressive 179.46 meters in length and boasts a gross tonnage of 21,970. It is designed with cutting-edge air emissions control scrubbers and is versatile enough to handle a variety of cargo, including heavy lift, yachts, rolling stock, and containerized shipments.
