This incident led to the cancellation of services as the ferry experienced a loss of lube oil pressure on one of its engines. Until the issue is resolved, the 'Hjørundfjord' is the only vessel operating on this route. A technician has been summoned to address the engine malfunction and restore normal operations as soon as possible.

On July 31, 2015, the ferry 'Hjørundfjord' became the sole vessel operating on the Festøy - Solevågen route, following the temporary sidelining of the 'Storfjord'. The latter encountered issues with its trapdoor, prompting necessary repairs that began at 10 a.m. After a brief hiatus, the 'Hjørundfjord' successfully resumed its service, navigating the northern side of the fjord and returning to full operation by noon.

On July 11, 2013, the ferry 'Storfjord', operating on the Festøya-Solavågen route, faced a significant setback when its main engine experienced a technical failure during the night. Initially, there were plans to restart operations with a departure scheduled from Festøya at 08:45, but as the crew assessed the situation, it became clear that further repairs were necessary. Consequently, all sailings were cancelled until the afternoon as the dedicated crew worked tirelessly to rectify the issue and restore ferry service for passengers.
