In a proactive move towards sustainability, Simon Møkster Shipping has partnered with Eni Norge to integrate a cutting-edge battery energy storage system aboard their LNG-powered Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) Stril Barents. This collaboration is set to dramatically decrease fuel consumption and reduce emissions while the vessel operates in support of the Goliat field. Asbjørn Skoge, district manager at Eni Norge, emphasized the importance of this initiative for improving Goliat's environmental performance. He stated, "This development enhances Goliat's already robust environmental profile, leveraging shore power and the re-injection of produced water. Our contribution to minimizing total emissions is vital, even if supply vessel emissions are not included in our overall statistics."
