On November 16, 2019, at approximately noon, the vessel 'Suffolk Chieftain' inadvertently triggered a distress signal stemming from a technical malfunction while situated 20 miles northeast of Unst, Shetland, with coordinates at 61 04 48N, 000 24 06W. Upon communication with the Shetland Coastguard, the crew swiftly confirmed that all was in order aboard the ship and clarified that the Inmarsat alert was purely a result of the system failure, reiterating they did not require any assistance from the Coastguard.
