On December 17, 2015, ferry operations across the Oslo Fjord faced significant disruptions as both the 'Bastø III' and 'Bastø IV' were sidelined due to technical issues. The 'Bastø III,' which had experienced an allision with the quay in Horten, incurred hull damage that necessitated immediate inspections and repairs, leading to her extended berth. Meanwhile, the 'Bastø IV' encountered its own technical complications. As a result of these developments, passengers at both Horten and Moss faced waiting times exceeding an hour, particularly troublesome since the route was serviced by only three ferries. The departures from Moss scheduled for 12:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., along with the 1:15 p.m. sailing from Horten, were subsequently canceled. At present, the 'Bastø V' has stepped in to ensure continued service by covering the sailings previously managed by the 'Bastø III.' The timeline for the return of the sidelined vessels remains uncertain.

On April 10, 2015, the ferry 'Bastø IV' encountered technical difficulties, resulting in the cancellation of its sailings until further notice. On March 8, 2013, passengers aboard the Bastø IV, which departed from Moss at 7 a.m., found themselves unexpectedly stuck upon arrival in Horten. The situation unfolded when the ferry reached Horten at approximately 8:15 a.m., where it was determined that the low tide prevented vehicles on the lower deck from disembarking. Attempts to relocate the ferry to a different berth were hindered by another ferry obstructing the way. This low tide challenge prompted the cancellation of two morning ferry services by Bastø Fosen.
