Super Jet Ferry Experiences Water Thruster Damage While En Route
On September 30, 2023, at approximately noon, the Master of the ferry 'Super Jet' reported a significant issue to the Port Authority of Naxos. While traveling without any passengers and with a crew of 12 members, the vessel was en route to Athens Thiras for a scheduled route when it encountered damage to its external water thruster on the port side. Following the discovery of this damage, the ship continued its journey at a reduced speed, ultimately reaching the port of Piraeus, where it successfully docked. In response to the situation, the Central Port Authority of Piraeus has since prohibited the ferry's departure. Passengers were promptly assisted and forwarded to their respective destinations by the ferry's owning company.
